1,4-Dichlorobenzene, also known as p-dichlorobenzene, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H4Cl2. It is a white crystalline powder, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, and benzene. It is mainly used as an insecticide, mold inhibitor, analytical reagent, and can also be used in organic synthesis.
On October 27, 2017, the list of carcinogens released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization (WHO) was preliminarily sorted out for reference, and p-dichlorobenzene was included in the list of Category 2B carcinogens.
