Details

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Ethylenediamine (EDA for short), chemical formula C2H8N2, is a typical fatty diamine, which is a colorless or yellowish oily or water like transparent liquid, produces smoke in the air , has an ammonia like odor, and is hygroscopic. Molecular weight 60.10, melting point 8.5 ℃, self ignition point 385 ℃. It belongs to alkaline substances and is easily soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in ether . Unless absolutely dry, it is insoluble in benzene and can form an azeotropic mixture with water, n-butanol, and toluene. Flammable when exposed to heat, open flames, or oxidizing agents, with moderate risk of combustion. It can be sterilized under high pressure or filtration.

Ethylenediamine can be used as an intermediate in the manufacture of fuels, rubber vulcanization accelerators, drugs, solvents such as fibrin, emulsifiers, epoxy resin curing agents, and insulating paints. Ethylenediamine can be absorbed through digestive tract, respiratory tract and skin. Vapors have a strong irritant effect on the skin and nasal mucosa, liquids have a corrosive effect, and have a sensitization effect

APPLICATIONS

Polymer resin

It can be used as curing agent for epoxy resin. The commonly used fatty diamine is a universal low-temperature curing agent. In recent years, the patents reported that Ethylenediamine, 2-methylpentanediamine and 1,3-pentanediamine are mainly used. They can significantly improve the performance of epoxy coatings as curing agents. However, this type of curing agent is generally highly toxic, and the epoxy system it is formulated with has high heat release, short service life, and brittle and hard cured products. With epoxy resin as the matrix, Ethylenediamine as the curing agent, acetone as the diluent, and quartz as the filler, an ideal universal cementing material can be prepared, which has the properties of firm cementation, high temperature resistance, oil resistance, water resistance, acid and alkali resistance, low temperature resistance, aging resistance, and high insulation. It can be widely used in the repair of motorcycles.

In addition, Ethylenediamine and high carbon ethylenediamine in the ethylenediamine series can produce polyamide resin with low relative molecular weight. The polyamide main grease with low relative molecular weight is polycondensation of dimeric acid and binary amine or ethylene polyamine, which can be divided into reactive and non reactive types. The former is mainly used as curing agent for surface coatings and Adhesive, and is widely used in shipbuilding, automobile, civil construction and other fields; The latter is mainly used as hot-melt Adhesive and ink, plastic printing, electronic and electrical, textile printing and dyeing and other fields

Printing and dyeing industry

Manufacturing finishing agents, fixing agents, and fiber surfactants.  For example, the treatment of wool with Ethylenediamine can break the disulfide bond in the wool, make the wool more soft, and facilitate the diffusion of dyes into the fiber; At the same time, wool can form aminoalanine, which increases staining; In addition, Ethylenediamine can also change the surface activity of wool and promote the adsorption of dyes on wool. Someone studied the process of pretreating wool with Ethylenediamine, and studied the properties of wool after pretreatment. It was found that pretreating wool with Ethylenediamine reduced the dyeing temperature of wool, shortened the dyeing time, improved the quality of products, and saved energy

Ethylenediamine or other polyethylene polyamines and fatty acids can be made into various cationic surfactants, which can be used in shampoo, textile softener and other industrial fields; Ethylenediamine hydroxyethyl Imidazoline can be converted into amphoteric surfactant, which is a kind of advanced surfactant with minimal irritation and toxicity; Surfactant condensed from Diethylenetriamine and fatty acid can be used as asphalt emulsifier, oilfield corrosion inhibitor and epoxy resin curing agent; Especially the demulsifiers used in oil fields produced from polyethylene and polyamines are growing rapidly.

Diethylenetriamine or polyamide and Epichlorohydrin can be used as raw materials to produce polyamide Epichlorohydrin resin (PPE), which is an important wet strengthening agent for paper making. Wet enhancer is used to help improve the strength of paper when it comes into contact with water or in damp environments. Polyamide Epichlorohydrin resin is a kind of wet reinforcement with excellent performance, which is mainly used for corrugated carton board, napkin, toilet paper, baby paper diaper, hospital disposable clothing and bedding

Oil Additives

The reactant of Ethylenediamine and sulfur can improve the thermal oxidation stability of the lubricating oil of diisopropyldithio Zinc phosphate, and the fatty acid amine salt or polyurea compound of Ethylenediamine can also be used as the thickening of lubricating oil
