Hydroquinone, also known as hydroquinone, is an organic compound formed by the substitution of two para hydrogen groups of benzene with hydroxyl groups. Its chemical formula is C6H6O2, and it is a white crystalline powder. It is mainly used to produce black and white developer, anthraquinone dye, Azo dye, rubber antioxidant, stabilizer and antioxidant.
On October 27, 2017, the list of carcinogens released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization (WHO) was preliminarily sorted out for reference, and hydroquinone was included in the list of three types of carcinogens.
