Details

Physical and chemical properties:
1,3-Dioxolane is a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature and pressure, soluble in water, ethanol, ether, and acetone. Its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air, which can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames and high heat. The compound has no polymerization risk, but is intolerant to oxidants and acidic substances.
Chemical properties:
Colorless transparent liquid. Freezing point -95℃, boiling point 78℃ (100kPa), relative density 1.066 (15/4℃), refractive index 1.3974, flash point 1℃. It is miscible with water and soluble in alcohol, ether and benzene. The azeotrope formed with water has a boiling point of 70-73℃ and a water content of 6.7%. It can decolorize bromine water.
Uses:
1. This product is the second monomer of copolymer formaldehyde, and is copolymerized with trioxymethylene in a ratio of 95:5 to produce copolymer formaldehyde. This product is also used as a solvent, a silk finishing agent and a sealing glue.
2. Mainly used as solvents and extractants for oils and fats, electrolytic solvents for lithium batteries, chlorine-based solvent stabilizers, pharmaceutical intermediates, etc. 1,3-Dioxolane is an excellent organic solvent, mainly used as solvents and extractants for oils and fats, electrolytic solvents for lithium batteries, and chlorine-based solvent stabilizers.
3. Used as solvents for low-boiling point compounds, and extractants for oils, waxes, dyes and fiber derivatives
