Details

This product is an alcohol ester compound, the chemical name is 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol monoisobutyrate; the trade name is dodecanol ester or alcohol ester-12, which can help various commercial emulsions to form films. Effectively reduce its minimum film-forming temperature.
Alcohol ester dodecanol secondary primary ester has two isomers:
1. Structure and stability: secondary esters have longer molecular structures than primary esters, uneven electron cloud distribution, and high energy levels, resulting in higher boiling points and poorer stability.
2. Conversion: By heating the primary ester, its intrinsic energy can be increased and converted to secondary esters. At the same time, at room temperature, the secondary ester will gradually reduce its own energy and convert to the primary ester. At a certain temperature, it will gradually balance after a certain period of time.
3. Why do you like secondary esters higher: the boiling point of secondary esters is slightly higher, and they merge with the emulsion (high boiling point) faster.
4. It is not that the higher the secondary ester, the better: the secondary ester has a high energy level, is unstable, and merges faster in the initial stage, but is not conducive to long-term storage.
