White needle shaped crystals, flammable, easily sublimated below boiling point, with a slight odor. Relative density 1 527. Melting point 131.6 ℃. Boiling point 295 ℃ (sublimation). Flash point 151.7 ℃. The ignition point is 584 ℃. Slightly soluble in hot water and ether, soluble in ethanol, benzene, and pyridine.
One of the important organic chemical raw materials. Can be used as an intermediate for organic compounds such as plasticizers, alkyd resins, unsaturated polyester resins, dyes and pigments, pharmaceuticals, food additives, and pesticides.
