Tetraethylenepentamine

Details

Chemical properties:
Tetraethylenepentamine is also known as tri-tetraethylenediamine, abbreviated as TEP. The structural formula is H2N(CH2CH2NH)3CH2=CH2NH2, yellow or orange-red viscous liquid. The relative density of the pure product is 0.998 (20/20℃), the melting point is -30℃, the boiling point is 333℃, and the refractive index is 1.5076. The boiling point of the industrial product is 160-210℃ (10×133.322Pa). It is easily soluble in water, ethanol and most organic solvents, and insoluble in benzene and ether. It easily absorbs water and carbon dioxide in the air. It is alkaline. It is obtained by thermal amination and aminolysis reaction of dichloroethane and ammonia water, neutralization with alkali and then reduced pressure distillation. It is used as a gas chromatography stationary liquid to selectively retain and separate alcohols, amines, pyridine, quinoline, piperazine, thiols and water. It is used for anion exchange resins, lubricant additives, fuel oil additives, and also used as epoxy resin curing agents, rubber vulcanization accelerators, etc.
Uses:
Tetraethylenepentamine can be used for the complex titration of copper, zinc and nickel by the current endpoint method, the saponification of acidic substances, and the purification and dehydration agent of synthetic rubber and resin gas. It is also used as an additive, curing agent, accelerator, etc.
